It
is recommended that extensions are removed at the same salon
at which they were applied. Technicians who have formal training
from a certified hairdressing or extensions
school should also be trained on how to remove extensions
properly to ensure no damage. If you wish to replace your
extensions immediately, this will have to be arranged by prior
consultation, where the technician will again check your hair
and scalp condition.
Hair Shedding
Growth and shedding is a natural cyclical process that everyone’s
hair goes through to make room for new hair. This process
continues even when wearing extensions. Everyone’s hair
sheds daily to replenish healthy hair and the shedding process
may be more noticeable at times depending on the weather,
changes in hormones and general health.
When wearing extensions, especially in braids or weaving,
the natural fallen hair will not have been able to release
itself. So when extensions are removed the natural hair that
has shed and been replaced by new hair will be released. So
it may appear that you have hair that is moulting in large
amounts, but this is normal and is actually hair that has
been replaced by new hair already.
