What
is System Ex?
System Ex is similar to Thermal Bonding in that it attaches
a few strands of hair at a time to add highlights, volume
and length. The key difference is that unlike Thermal Bonding,
System Ex is completely resin-free.
Suitability
System Ex, being resin-free, is considered a ‘Green’
alternative to Thermal Bonding. Whilst a popular modern method
of attachment, your technician may consider it unsuitable
if your hair is very brittle or damaged.
An initial consultation will determine which length of hair
to go for and how much you will need, as well as the texture
and colour of hair, depending on your requirements.
The Process
As with all extension application methods, the client’s
hair is washed clean and blow-dried with cool air before applying
extensions.
Once clean and dry, the natural hair is sectioned and a few
strands are taken at a time to which the extension hair is
attached suing a special braid and elasti-thread seal.
Caring for System Ex Hair Extensions
System Ex hair extensions can last up to three months although
it is recommended that they are replaced after eight weeks
due to the growth of the natural hair which will make the
extensions ‘fall’ from where they were first applied
revealing the attachment.
Whilst these extensions can be washed every other day, it
is recommended they are shampooed less frequently, on a weekly
basis. Low pH products should be used. Shampooing less frequently
will prevent extensions from wear that occurs naturally by
washing. Conditioner can be used but should not placed directly
on the areas where extensions have been applied, close to
the scalp, to avoid System Ex attachments from getting clogged
up.
Use special brushes for extensions to reduce
static, large tooth combs to detangle and oil free recommended
products to maintain shine and lustre.
If human hair has been used, you can style your hair with
heated straighteners and tongs and with a hair dryer.
